    Default Erase all Content and Settings - what exactly does it do

    Hi Guys

    I have just sold my iPhone. Itīs a first generation model that is jailbroken and upgraded to v3.0.

    My question is what exactly will hapen if I do an "Erase All Content and Settings". Will it make the phone unusable by reverting it back to version 1.1.3 and locking it again or will it just get rid of any additional apps that I have installed and the existing data like addresses, contacts, SMS etc.

    It will secure wipe all of your data from the iPhone - thats what you want. In most cases you'd have to install the recent firmware (right now 3.0) after wiping. Dont know how you sold it, unlocked?
    If so, after wipe just restore to fw 3 (dont sync then ;-) and run redsnow.
