like everyone else, i want texts from my old phone on my iphone. i've figured that the only way to do this is to edit SMS.db manually in sqlite database browser (or similar, but that's what i'm using - i'm on osx 10.4). i know how to do this, and to make sure the tables match up. but i get an error...so, i searched the forums, and there's plenty of threads on said error! buuut... a) they're all fairly old and b) none actually solve the problem, except this one. however, that workaround (with dropping the triggers then creating them) is either not working anymore in 3.0 or i can't get it to work.

if that workaround is still working for anyone else on 3.0 can you tell me how you got it to work??

(also, i should note, i was finding it easier to create a new conversation the real way [i was using my mom's phone to text myself], and then change the address, timestamp, and message in SQLite so that i didn't have to worry about numbering problems as the phone was creating the numbering scheme for me - not super relevant i know, but if this creates any other numbering problems i'm not forseeing let me know...)

[edit] i also have an sms-legacy.db on my phone, no idea what this is but it's formatted the same as sms.db but with one less index, and has no texts in it (and gives the same error still). have no idea if something could be done with this but thought i'd throw it out there as i haven't seen anyone mention it yet...

I usually backup the sms database before I upgrade and then put that back after the upgrade. Does that not work for you?

the texts weren't on an iphone, so i have to manually put them in the iphone database. =/

The dude that created just discontinued the app because iTunes is now syncing Notes as well.

Anyway, check it out, and try to open the db with the program, edit what you need, and then upload the db
using the Save/Load option directly into the iPhone.
