Hi guys.

I'm a bit stuck here, looks like everybody succeed in turning internet tethering ON on their device, but me and a friend just can't get the menu item to show.

I modified a ipcc file and setup APNs and type-mask to both -2 or 49 without success.
The IPCC file is correctly iploaded to the iPhone by iTunes, it is chosen for the current network (if I set a custom image, I can see it) but the menu just don't enables itself.

I tried to hard reset and reset network settings : no luck.

iPhone is not jailbroken, activated on Orange FR network

You are on a legit contract, right? Do you have to pay eaxtra money for using Tethering? Can you use tethering with the standard settings?
type-masks 49 and -2 defenitely dont work properly.
To make Editing visible you have to add AllowEDGEEditing set to true.

If you have iPhone 2G (original) you can't use tethering. Tethering only work on 3G and 3GS.

Uuuups, you are absolutely right Rob. sorry I missed the OP talking 2G iPhone

Thank you guys, looks like the iPhone 2G is some kind of antique nobody but ol' famers in the back country still use and update, cos I saw very few posts mentioning that.
