Can I unlock my 3G 3.1.2 w/baseband 5.12.01?
With a bootloader 6.02? Or am I SOL? I know this has probably been asked 300 times but I can't find anything in the threads with my specific specs. I was able to downgrade the firmware from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 but the baseband is still 5.12.01 with a bootloader of 6.02.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yes it has been answered 1000 times already.
3G iPhone with baseband bootloader 05.08 (also written as 5.8) is the only baseband bootloader that supports downgrading of baseband. This is done via a tool called fuzzyband.
Your iPhone does not have baseband bootloader 05.08 so you have two options.
- Get an official unlock from your carrier (if they offer this)
- Wait till July when an unlock for 05.12.01 comes out and be very careful about any updates of the OS as you can never downgrade baseband
