Any workaround for this? I noticed this myself... Haven't found any solution. Sucks though.

3.0 broke my in-car usb sync cable connection that always worked before.
also too many cursor issues. copy/paste is buggy as shit. phone became annoying to use. my recommendation, its just not worth the effort to make it work.

I then put 3.0 on again but didn't restore from backup and youtube works and the battery life is much better.
I did, in fact, restore from a backup.... I should try again without the restore and see. I can see how putting a restore on there could cause problems.
Does anyone recall how often Apple pushed betas of the previous firmwares? If there's going to be a new beta in the upcoming weeks, I may just wait until that one is released before messing with it again.
Also, after downgrading to 2.2.1, I did notice it dropping from the data network after a while. Rebooting the phone picks it back up, and some people have mentioned that going into the Network settings page and toggling 3G should permanently fix it. I've done both and haven't waited long enough to tell. I also hear it's related to restoring from a backup after you do the 2.2.1 downgrade... (which I also did)
EDIT: Re-restored 2.2.1 and set up as a new iPhone and no longer had the data timeout issue, but was having sporadic other issues relating to data connectivity. Got tired of it and restored back to 3.0 and set it up as a new iPhone.
EDIT 2: After setting up as a new device, the battery life is much improved, and I'm seeing a slightly more stable Video player -- e.g., it will properly mark files as watched, though I haven't done a secondary sync yet to see if it will properly update the files. Still takes forever to sync, the more data that is on the iPhone, the longer it takes iTunes to make the library and push it to the iPhone (I think that's what it's doing, just a guess.)
EDIT 3: Battery life wasn't really improved by not restoring. Battery life was improved because mail wasn't checking automatically. Apparently, the reason that restoring from a backup causes the phone's battery life to die is that it keeps the mail passwords. I have 5 IMAP accounts that my iPhone checks (all 5 in fetch mode, with 15 minute checks, just like on my 2.2.1) and noted this morning that none of them were checking because I hadn't entered a password. Entered password into all 5 of them and my battery life went straight back to the toilet. Today's record, 1 hour and 8 minutes of usage, 6 hours and 42 minutes of standby -- from a full charge to it turning the screen off and telling me it was time to charge. Perhaps I have too many e-mail addresses configured.

That's why it's not even a BETA; it's a dev. preview build and it's not even public.
I have to admit, it isn't as snappy as 2.2x was, but I wouldn't want to trade it back for 2.2x due to the added functionality. This was all very obvious from the start, so no surprice here either.
