Backup problems with iPhone 3.0 GM build

I just updated my 3G to 3.0 GM build and now whenever i connect to iTunes it says its going to perform a back up and then it skips over the backup, I wanted to know if anybody else is having the same problem and does anybody know how to fix this problem?

reboot your computer and reboot the iphone and try again?

yea i did that, i shut the phone off and restarted my computer it still did that and then i held the home button and the lock button to reboot it and it still wont backup my phone

Are you using a Mac?
