How to install your iPhone 3.0 OS beta on your 2G device

I tried the above but I can't open QuickPwnRC2, It opens on Windows XP but when I select the firmware, The program "Wheel Spins" and then it stops and I dont get a "Green Check" to go ahead to the next step, (The button that supposed to be blue is greyed out.)
To Unlock....
Here is what I did, and doing that I keep failing at.
1. Downgraded to 2.0.2. and allowed iTunes to activate my phone,
2. I tried to use RC2, (Maybe I got it from wrong place?) and it wouldn't go farther then "Select Firmare"
3. I used RC3, That worked, so I unlocked and jailbroke.
4. Then I went to iTunes (Put it in DFU) and click "Shift" then clicked upgrade, 3.0 installed, But everytime it's finished I'm taken to the "Activation Screen" and I never get farther....
I even tried to turn off my internet while it tried to activate and nothing....Please help me...

Is your iPhone 2G or 3G? This method may not work on iPhone 3G.

Well, it works, but only if I leave an AT&T SIM in there (which has no actual account, so I have no service), as soon as I put my TMobile SIM, it says 'Connect to iTunes" deactivation screen but I can still receive calls and txts, I just can't do anything else.

The steps are correct, maybe a faulty RC2 ?
You activated your iphone you said ? This is not ok for this to work.
You will need a other not official sim or just leave it out so that itunes cannot activate youre iphone.
Then let quickpwnrc2 or rc3 do it's magic. and upgrade to 3.0
The only thing i can do is upload my version of RC2 to a site, so you can use my version ? Let me now with a pm.

Yeah after I downgrade my iPhone to 2.0.2 and I allow it to activate, This time, I will deny it.

When Pwnagetool asks me to "Unlock" do I check that, then proceed? Or does it not need it? I will find out in the many failed attempts! Thanks guys for being so kind to a newb.

I'm having an iPhone 2G running 2.2.1. This firmware is a custom Pwnage firmware. Can I just upgrade to the 3.0 software? Will the SimLock become active again? What about the activation?

I had to go down to 2.0.2 in order to remain activated, once I did that, my phone was activated and still SIM-unlocked

If you upgrade you will forever lose the SIM unlock.
