I hope somebody can help me and that I am in the right. I have a 2g iPhone thats jailbroke and unlocked. I accidentally updated the os in Itunes (10.1 (54)).

I keep getting the error message 'There is no sim card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate). I think by updating it in this version of Itunes i have updated it to the very lastest iphone os and that there is no jail break for it? Am I right in saying this? Is there a chance I can even unlock it? Please help!

Yes you very likely have a solid chance of getting it working again.

Download a copy of redsn0w 0.9.2 [iPhone Dev Team]

also download 3.1.2 ipsw for the iPhone 2G from http://www.hackint0sh.org/f127/22056.htm

then follow the procedure here (start with step 3 and where the pictures and the text don't agree, go with the pictures)

or
