Hi folks,

I am currently staying in the US and thinking about buying an iPhone at Best Buy. I found a lot of information about unlocking and jailbreaking the iPhone 3Gs. However, I found no information how to hacktivate the iPhone 3Gs.
Since I am living in Europe, I cannot make a AT&T contract. My question now is, if it is possible to fake the activation?

That's what redsn0w is for: Jailbreak and hacktivate.
And ultrasn0w is for unlocking.

Current redsn0w and ultrasn0w works with iphone 3GS with firmware 3.0.1 and baseband 04.26.08

You have 2 solutions:

1- You can use the AT&T sim that comes with the iPhone and leave it in the phone and connect to iTunes and it'll activate automatically. Thats what I used to do.

2- As dtube said, redsn0w does the job.
