Hi

I am trying to put my 3g into DFU to jailbreak/unlock but cant get in to enter DFU! It will go straight to receovery but not DFU!!! I have tried MANY times and read nearly EVERY post in google.lol

Any suggestions?

Do your home and power buttons function? Also, are you plugged into a PC? Those are the only real requirements. Beyond that, you can force the phone into DFU mode by uploading a corrupt ramdisk -- do a quick search through the forums and this process is detailed. It's usually only used to get a phone into DFU when the home or power button is broken, but if you're unsuccessful, try that. Last but not least, you can try iReb which should be able to kick the device into DFU mode.
