I have an iphone 3G with the software at 3.1 and itunes 9 on a mac.

My problem is that when I try jailbreaking it, I get the 1015 error when I try jailbreaking it to 3.0 firmware. I’m jailbreaking it to 3.0 because I heard the newest on you can't unlock it. So please someone give me details on how to fix it to any firmware so I can unlock this phone.
I don’t care which firmware you give me as long as it jailbreaks it and I can unlock it.

1015 is normal when you are downgrading. It appears because although it is possible to downgrade the OS, you can't downgrade the baseband.

The iOS versions you are talking about are very old and as long as your 3G iPhone has never been updated to iOS 4.x you should be able to unlock.

Jailbreaking with redsn0w 0.9.2 can get past the 1015 error on iOS 3.0
