    Default /dev/rdisk02s or /dev/rdisk0s2s1

On the Ubuntu box in ssh-terminal session do
    nc -l 7000 | dd of=./rdisk0s2
if it is an iPhone 2G/3G or
    nc -l 7000 | dd of=./rdisk0s2s1
if it is an iPhone 3GS

Ubuntu box is waiting for data then

Fire up another ssh-terminal session and log into the iPhone

    ssh -l root 192.168.1.10

where 192.168.1.10 has to be replaced with the iPhone's IP

    password is alpine

    Then issue

    /bin/dd if=/dev/rdisk0s2 bs=1M | nc 192.168.1.5 7000

where 192.168.1.5 has to be replaced with your Ubuntu's IP. remember to replace rdisk0s2 with rdisk0s2s1 if it's a 3GS.

make sure to have the iPhone connected to ac and set auto-lock to never. takes about 3 hours for an 8GB, 5 for 16GB...

I'm now trying to convert on my 3GS. It almost consume 12hours.
I build up Linux environment with Ubuntu 9.04 and issued following command ---

    ssh root@192.168.x.xxx dd if=/dev/rdisk02s bs=1M | dd of=/iphone_dmp.img

Of course I'm mounting PC filesystem for output destination. Now output file grew 26.2GB and converting is still going. I found several solution for this issue. Someone say if=/dev/rdisk02s, others say if=/dev/rdisk0s2s1.

Output of df commnad on my 3GS /dev/disk0s2s1 is mounted on /var/private.

How differ these 2 devices ? my converting is going on with /dev/rdisk02s.
Dump file cannot be used ??

    Default No data

    Hey all,

I managed to get a full image off of two iphones I was playing with. The only photos I could recover were photos taken on the currently working phone that I had just restored. The photos I took prior to the restore are completely gone. Those are the ones I was hoping to recover. I used photorec and scalpel and other software to no avail. Am I missing something in the way I search for the .jpg files?

    Any help would be awesome!
    Thanks,
    chako

I can find the package on the telesphero Tangelo repo (this is Saurik's default repo that should be included with all Cydia installs)

Just so you know, this technique won't (yet) work on iOS4. You need to copy the data at the file level rather than at the disk level on iOS4 due to new encryption techniques added in iOS 4.0

    Thumbs up

If you happen to lose some important files such as contacts, text messages, photos, notes and more on your iPhone 3GS by accident, and you want to get them back. Dr.Fone (iPhone 3GS) can bring back your digital life. A single click to get back what you want from iPhone 3GS without erasing anything!

Help, I used wondershare dr phone to try to recover deleted files and it gets to 99% and didn't want to finish. I'm on a jailbroken iphone 5 on 6.1.2, windows 7 and accidentally deleted 20 photos/vids yesterday and they aren't in my backup.

I tried EaseUS MobiSaver 3.1 and it finished but doesn't show any deleted pictures. I shows all the photos from the last 3 months, but when you click "show deleted" it doesn't have any.

What's I'm wondering is, if I try the photorec, would this work better? or if EaseUS doesn't see them, nothing will?
