iPhone3G stuck on loading screen after reboot help!!!
Hey, i know this is kind of an exhausted topic but i cant find a solution anywhere and really need some help.
Anyway, I've had a jailbroken iphone3G for a couple of years now and forgot all about it until i found it today. i have upgraded since but decided to just use the phone as an iPod touch kind of thing and thought id just erase and clear all settings. i did the usual thing and just went through settings and clicked erase.
it did its business and started to reboot. it is now stuck on the damn loading screen with a spinning wheel. i cant in anyway get it to turn off or enter DFU mode. i repeat i can not enter it into any mode or switch it off at all. i don't think its a hardware fault because i can feel the clicks of all the buttons. i have tried holding them down for over 5 minutes to force shut it down but nothing happens at all.
my pc and itunes doesn't even recognize it.
like i said i know its an exhausted topic but i have no clue what to do.
if anyone can help i know the basic about jailbraking and such but i would like a thorough plan on what to do.
thank you for your time

If you had it laying around somewhere for a long period of time, chances are that the battery died. You can try taking it out, and putting it back in. That might be a temporary fix. If you intend to start using the phone again, however, I suggest you get a new battery.

No I don't think it's the battery to be honest. It's turning on and charging. It was was working fine till I reset everything.
I've seen all the guides about holding the buttons down for a certain amount of time but that doesn't work

Yes the best way to turn it off is to remove the battery.

I Have a i3g that I have gotten it stuck in a boot up mode,gabriella27 has the fix, before you say it wont work, you should give it a try first.
I have put mine into DFU but the TIMING has got to be perfect,,Do you think you can get the screen off your phone have you done this before it will be the best quickest way to fix it.There are lots of video's at Youtube on how to remove the screen 2 screw's at botton put a suction cup at the botton where the home button is and pull up carefully.Have you since fixed this unit,, BUY A BATTERY,get a cheap one if your worry it wont fix it,I think there 7 buck's and up.
I would like to hear if you fixed it or what might help other's,
