Default IPhone 3GS Enter DFU mode (no Power button + Phone not activated)

    Hi,

I'm helping out a friend .. The IPhone has been upgraded from itunes from firmvare version 3.12 - 6.1.3.
The phone is stuck on activation and itunes isnt activating it .. the phone was jailbroken before the update was done..
The issue now is trying to get it into DFU mode to use redsn0w as
    -power button is broken
-phone not activated so cudnt restore it from itunes

I then used tinyumbrella and put the phone into recovery mode and was able to use the restore in itunes so i could use a DFU IPSW ..
However , i get an error
(3194) - when tinyumbrella issnt running in the background and
    (21) - when it is

-ive been using iPhone2,1_6.0.1_10A523_Restore.ipsw which i converted to an ENTER_DFU....ipsw from redsn0w..
i have saved blobs of 6.0.1 10A523 thats y ive been using the 6.0.1 ipsw

earlier i was even getting error (11) and googled that it had to do with host file so i deleted the gs.apple.com from the host file
should i use the 6.1.3 ? or the error is unrelated ?

can some one please help me out with what has to be done ..
