    Is Zdziarski's book still worth going through or is it too outdated at this point?

    I've got an iPhone programming background, but looking to get up to speed on open development, get familiar with the private libraries, etc.

    Zdziarski's would be a good read if you got it for cheap... Miller's book is interesting if you can understand it..

    Neither will teach you anything about private libraries and stuff, would have to poke around the SDK header files yourself and experiment

    Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x
