Default Really stupid question that I CAN'T work out

    Hello everyone =)

I have a quick stupid question that has been blowing my mind for a while now. First of all, I've used google already, for like 10 hours now (not in one run). I'm not exaggerating, I tried like 100 times and I couldn't make it work, so I'm asking for help now =(.

My goal: To run a shell script from an icon in the springboard and watch it do stuff (For example: If I write "echo hello world", I wanna see hello world on the screen =) )

Ok so I know what I (supposedly) need to do. I have to create a directory called "myshell.app" with 4 files inside

    -Icon.png
    -Default.png
    -Info.plist
    -mysupershell.sh

Ok... so I'm aware I need to assign the CFBundleExecutable variable in the Info.plist file to be "mysupershell.sh" (without the quotes). I've also assigned an unique identifier and other stuff. The thing is: It's not working!

As soon as I click, it shows the Default.png background for a nanosec, and then the app immediately exits and the script doesn't get executed.

I've tried everything, I googled and found around 10 threads talking about this, and read them 100 times each. I got nothing (I tried the chmod 755 thing.. but I dunno if I'm doing it right). Anyway regarding the chmod755 thing, I want to use the script on different iphones so it kinda defeats the purpose if I have to set it every time.

Btw, the shell script works fine, it's just an echo and a mkdir. I tried it changing it like 54 times.

So people, if anyone could give me some help, or a zip file with something already working, it will be VERY appreciated.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read.

    Hi,

Well perhaps you would like to add a "sleep 5" at the end so it waits for 5 seconds ... ? I tried what you said regarding creating the folder and such, it did not show up on springboard.

Btw i am trying the other way: using Adobe CS5 to develop an ipa, send it to itunes then to the iphone: i am stuck at the point where iTunes starts syncing the new app with the iphone, but at the end it says that the app was not synched because it was not compatible with my device (the iPhone 3G).

If you or anyone has a hint much appreciated.
