Hey,
Has anyone used an unlocked iPhone with the apple developer sdk, or does it put some software on the phone that could brick it? Just want to find out before I front the £50...
Cheers,

I've used the iPhone SDK on my Pwned 2.0 iPhone.
I paid the $99, and have build sample apps from the SDK with my developer certificate/installed them onto my Pwned iPhone.
I haven't seen any problems introduced by the Pwned OS.
When you follow the SDK instructions (which were written before retail release of 2.0), it will tell you to install a beta 2.0 OS when you add your iPhone as a developer device. Just leave the Pwned 2.0 OS there (*don't* upgrade the OS).

just what I wanted to know :-) cheers!
Yes, as far as I remember, I followed the instructions pretty much exactly.
Actually, if I remember correctly, there were some steps that were 'unclear' to me, so I may not have followed exactly (I may have experimented on a couple of steps to get it right). But, that has nothing to do with the fact that the phone was Pwned - just the fact that I either wasn't quite understanding the instructions, or that they were a bit out of date (and not perfect).
But, to (I think) answer what you really want to know: NO, I didn't do anything special because of the fact that my iPhone was Pwned - I just made sure I left the (Pwned) 2.0 OS on the phone (instead of putting a beta 2.0 OS on it). Even if I had an 'offical' (non-Pwned) iPhone with 2.0 OS, I wouldn't have wanted to "downgrade" to the (older) beta OS, so I would have skipped that step in any case.

Are you using the original iPhone or the 3G? When I compiled the demo apps from Apple like HelloWorld and AccelerometerGraph and but them on my phone (using ssh), the background screen comes up but then it disappears and I get the springboard background image but no icons. If I hit the home button then the icons come back.
Putting the same app on my friends 3G phone works perfectly. I am not sure why they will not work on mine.
I did set the permissions for the app directory and signed the apps so I think they are running. When they are not signed they just flash on and then back to the springboard. After I sign them they run but the UI is missing.

I've got a 2G.
I've only ever installed demo apps/apps I've written using the official iPhone SDK (my iPhone is Pwned/unlocked, but for SDK development I use the official tools). I download to the iPhone directly from Xcode - not with ssh.
So, I can't help you with your specific problem (sorry).
