>User installs app on device>User selects from a range of INPUT FILTERS within app>User activates SCAN feature of app> app sends user’s GPS location + any selected INPUT FILTERS to our online database> our online database of locations runs an online query filtering by the users INPUT FILTERS and returns locations which are within X distance from user’s submitted GPS location and meet INPUT FILTER requirements> all acceptable search results are transmitted back to the user in a list form> user selects one of the search results>app communicates with database>database returns the field “DESCRIPTION” from the corresponding record of the selected search results>the app gives the user directions to the search result

Some clarifying notes:
-Input filters are basically what they say they are; filters
-Scan feature will be activated by tapping a touchscreen button that says “scan”
-Search results are simply one of the fields (name, most likely) from whatever results the database query returns
-“description” is just a text field from the database

Should not be a problem. The development of the filters, and how they are selected and run maybe be on of the more difficult aspects, but it should not be to bad. The Database back-end should be straight forward and is just a matter of choosing the best platform to work with. Overall is should be relatively easy to put together.
