[iPhone SDK] Will it enable writing of MMS, Bluetooth etc... ?
Just wondering if with the help of SDK people will find it easier to write applications like MMS, a video camera, full set of bluetooth apps (file transfer, dial up etc)...

The short answer is:
MMS - no
video camera - yes
support more bluetooth profiles - no
The reason is that SDK applications are all the SDK license allows the SDK to be used to write and the SDK applications (as opposed to daemons. services) all quit when the user switches to another application.
So ... no persistent services or services that are generic in nature to extend the os are right out too.

Actually I prefer to say "not sure" instead of a plain "no".
Makes no sense to have a Cisco VPN Client running all the time as main application and I missing my mail/browsing via Intranet. Same as sampled AIM, I do not believe they will disallow it to be ran in background.
Time will tell.
(OK I know they have told already you aren't able to send apps to background, but hey, we will only make sure about it in june)

I agree that Apple must change that particular stance. Steve has said VOIP is okay, just WiFi only not _ATT_ edge. And VOIP is disallowed specifically, so there is some conflict between Steve RDF (reality distortion field) emanations and the SDK license. Also I'd bet someone like AOL gets a different license...

NO
3G is a hardware component, Not Software. The iPhone's current hardware doesnt feature 3G but You can expect a 3G iPhone in the middle of 2008 if the rumors hold true.
