[iPhone SDK] What type of games would you like to see for the iPhone?
Hi everyone!
I have a simple question for you guys. I'm wondering what type of games you would like to see on the iPhone. Take a minut before you answer.
Ofcourse it's very much about the accelerometer. But also, would you like a game that is easy to start and quit or would you want one that you'll have to sink into, eg an rpg. Which current games do you think would fit on the iPhone. We have the obvious ones like Monkey Ball and such but what other games, and how would you convert the controls to fit the iPhone.
I'm currently interested in games that you'll be able to start and quit at anytime. Fast pased action games of some sort maybe. Also a puzzle game like Professor Layton for the DS would be cool on the iPhone. I'm tired of all the puzzle games where it's all about getting four balls in a row sort of thing. I'm sure it'll make money but it's already done and pretty boring.
So lets hear it. What type of games would you like to see for the iPhone?
Eager to hear from you guys =)

For an easy starting point, PacMan would be nice, haven't seen one yet. Just be aware, although accelerometer is cool sometimes it just doesn't work, the app "15" on Installer looks good but I find it unplayable due to it's accelerometer based controls, they're too inaccurate and it would be a lot quicker to just touch and drag.

yeah i was thinking about pacman aswell as something worth trying out.
OK so i tried the game "15" and as you say it's pretty unplayable.
That's the sad part about a lot of games for the iphone, that you think that just because you have the accelerometer you'll have to use it.

i would like to see a driving game that you use the phone as the steering wheel - (hold the phone with screen facing you), and not a GT4 or Forza2 style game but a fun rally game or something that gives feedback with vibrations and you turn the phone like a steering wheel and brake and accelerate buttons would be by your thumbs (top left and top right of the screen)

yeah a driving game like that could be pretty cool. One could try having sliders for acc etc on the side. You don't want to have awkward handpositions but worth a try.
