Hi -

I've been trying to find a way to implement Alarms in an application using the official iPhone SDK. I basically want to set an alarm like the Calendar App or the Clock App, where you can have an alarm that will get triggered at some time in the future, and alert the user at the specified time.

I know that there is no support for an application running in the background, but I'm hoping that there's some kind of system wide mechanism for supporting these types of alarms for 3rd party apps.

Is this supported by the SDK? If not, is there any other way (i.e. workaround) to implement this kind of feature in a 3rd party application?
