[iPhone SDK] Free apps available only to those are registered to iTunes Store ?
I thought I would pose this question.
Will Apple only let registered Iphone's users buy any apps from their SDK site ?
This would be a convenient way of killing the accessibility of Jailbroken and activated Iphones.
Thoughts ??

This would also be a very convenient way of severely crippling their revenues. ;-)

Yeh, Loads of phones are jailbroken and hacked. If i remember correctly, In the q&a after the sdk announcement, Jobs said something about the revenues from the apple store goes to Apple them selves, and nothing to do with the carriers.

No, iTunes Store is the 'secondary pathway' for selling iPhone/Touch apps (remember Steve talking about side loading apps... and several people are mentioning their contacts w/ Apple and that iTunes will help those that have no WiFi get apps), the AppStore probably is linked to the iTunes Store in the same way the WiFi Store is (otherwise, how would you be able to pay for the apps?)
It has to be linked to an Apple ID in some way, I bet.
This may also mean it will only be available in the countries that have official iPhone carriers (US, UK, Ireland, France, Germany).
Let's hope it's not, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case.

well... i hope that when the 3g iphone is released, apple mades a deal with some argentinian carrier (i doubt one will want a deal with edge iphone since they are expanding 3g and have NO edge flat rate plans for data)
then itunes store would HAVe to come to south america i guess.
