Default How to test my apps written using official iPhone SDK 2.2 without a certificate

i have built an iPhone project using official iPhone SDK 2.2. It works fine in iPhone simulator. Now i want to test it in iPhone. However, when i build it using "Device (iPhone 2.2)"+"Release", i got the error: CodeSign error: Code Signing Identity 'iPhone Developer' does not match any code-signing certificate in your keychain.

how can i solve this problem?

    Buy the 99$ license.

Its just a one time buy. Whats your issue?...

If you think your app is worth it. Buy the 99$ license, and sell it on the Appstore. Youll definately recover the 99$ atleast .

Can't you need to have a certificate to sign your code with before testing it on a device.

I think you need a special certificate from Apple that tells Xcode to put it on your iPod/iPhone. Without it Xcode won't allow you to transfer apps to the device. I've been looking but can't find any workarounds/hacks that bypass the certificate requirement

The special certificate being the one you receive with the $99 payment

    Well, this is not devforums.apple.com

This forum is intended to be a place to talk beyond Apple's official recommendations, am I right ?

Getting a $99 return of sales of iPhone apps is not an easy task, believe me, especially for newbies.

The previous version of iPhone SDK allows you to build the Device Release binary, without code signing. But not this one (2.2), and I'm also looking for a workaround.

This is very useful if you don't want to go with the hassle of setting up certificates and mobile provisioning profile.

Because I admit, the process in pseudo-signing and self-signing is simpler.

You'd be very surprised how easy it is to recover this $99.

Plus, you'll need to pay the $99 if you plan on selling through the App Store anyway.

    Regarding the code-signing.

Open Cydia and scroll to the bottom until you see "Bypassing Code Signature". I'd recommend Option 2.

Basically build your application as Release (but with no certificates).
FTP the build.app file to /Applications
    Open Terminal
    Login as Root (su root)
    Install ldid if required
Run the ldid command on the build.app you've FTP'd
Reboot (only required the first time you FTP)

Easy for some people, but not for newbies, unless if they are lucky.

That code-signing on Cydia doesn't affect 2.2 SDK, because the Xcode itself disallows to build the app without using certificates.

I'd like to know how to do this too. I want to test apps on a REAL iPhone instead of in the iPhone Simulator. I don't feel like paying $99 right now because I want to spend (a lot) of time learning how to code, not worrying about getting it in the App Store.

I think it's because your phone is jailbroken or there is something wrong with your certificates. Been struggling with the same.
