I have used the method I came up with in my first post in this thread on 4 iPhones now, and I have success EVERY single time, so I don't understand why some of you have difficulties....
    iMac 24" * MacBook Pro 17" * iPod Classic 160Gb * iPhone 8Gb * iPhone 16Gb

    Unhappy stuck with 04.05.04_G

My problem is I can't downgrade my baseband. I tried every mothods

ZiPhone Patch (On both Mac & PC)
    BootNeuter (got Error5)
    iEraser 1.2
    ZiPhone 3.0

Nothing work!!! I'm stuck with 04.05.04_G and cannot unlock.

Update: found the solution !!! I have to use this newest version of ZiPhone Patch found here http://iphone-freak.com/en/page1/page1.html
    to downgrade 04.05.04_G
Now everything is working like charm ^_^

Default This is how I did it...

I fought with this for about 5 hours trying everything suggested in this forum and elsewhere to get around the 1604 error and the only thing that worked was using my other MacBook Pro that was running iTunes 7.6.2 and had not been updated to 7.7. I had no issues restoring to 1.1.4. I had to do it twice (I mistakenly put the phone in DFU mode instead of recovery mode when unlocking due to some squirrelyness of working on this so long:p) and the restore went great. I then unlocked with iLiberty+.

I bought an 8GB iPhone back in the 1.0.1 days from the States to use in the UK. A few days ago, I was on 1.1.4. ZiPhone act/jail/unlocked. After reading numerous posts about any O2 SIMs being able to be activated in 2.0, I did my reading and took the plunge. The upgrade went fine, but I was unable to activate. iTunes tells me I have an unsupported SIM. I have been to the O2 shop in the interim, and collected a different SIM to try that. Same message in iTunes.

I have no idea what is going wrong here. I seem to get conflicting information from each person I speak to, and none of the guides on this board seem to work for me.

I'm now in a position where I'm trying to restore to 1.1.4, and I'm following the instructions in various guides. Downgrade to iTunes 7.5 > DFU mode > Restore 1.1.4, but I just keep getting error 1600. I have tried different USB ports, back to DFU mode each time...

I did the original hacking of 1.1.4 with ZiPhone. Are we coming to the conclusion that ZiPhone-hacked 1.1.4 iPhones are having problems? Once 2.0 has been put on them?

Has anyone who used ZiPhone on 1.1.4 successfully been able to regress from 2.0?

Please please help! I'm lost without my phone!
Just in case this helps someone else: I was having problems restoring 1.1.4 (as I mentioned above) - error 1600 every time. I rebooted - no joy. Then I moved to another computer. Don't ask me why or how this worked, it is voodoo. But it did. So I was able to restore back to 1.1.4 and now I'm working again.

And now waiting for the 2.0 unlock tool from the dev team, to give it another shot ;-)

In my situation, it is very much a case of 'once bitten, thirteen times shy'.

UPDATE: You should also know that trying the 2.0 firmware after fixing yourself back to 1.1.4 doesn't flash anything that makes 2.0 work either. ;-)

I would restore again. Make sure you don't get a 16** error and that you get the red colouring on the iPhone if using iBrickr to kick the phone out of DFU mode.
