    Default Help me - Installed BETA 2.0 - stopped !!! :-(

    OK here is the deal.

I work for a global company. We have been selected to participate in the BETA testing. I live in Oslo, and have the old 4 GB version that is hacked of course. I had the 1.1.4 version on it (hacked with ZiPhone) Worked like a charm. Last night I figured I could install the BETA 2.0 on my iphone. Figured if it didn't work, then I could just downgrade back to 1.1.4.

:hack: So installed 2.0, ZiPhones it, got it working, but had no SIM connectivity. Couldn't get a connection to my carrier. Couldn't connect to iTunes and update anything. Got the error about TLS and SSL 1. So I figured that the BETA wouldn't work for me, so I went back to 1.1.4. Got this installed, ZiPhoned it, and still same issue. So now I have a BRICK. Can surf with it, and that's about it. SIM card is registered on the phone, since it ask for the PIN code, I enter it, and it says accepted. But still no contact with the my provider. Nor can I connect it to iTunes, unless I put it in restore mode.

So as you all can see, I am shit out of luck...

Any tips, ideas, anything I can test out for you guys? Let me know ASAP.

Ziphone does NOT support 2.0 beta. You should use pwnage. But first you need to delete or unlock the 2.0 beta baseband (which stays even if you restore the phone to 1.1.4). Search in the unlock section to find out how to do it...

Easy, put your phone in restore mode and pwn it. Then install a custom 1.1.4 ipsw file. Should be up and running then.

shane_pcs.... thx for the feedback. But I got to ask you....

I am using a PC (windows) to do this. Isn't pwn for MAC? If not, where can I download it. Right now I am able to start the iphone. I have version 1.1.4, but the modem firmware is still 04.05.01. This seems to be the whole reason for the problem right? Can you step by step guide me to what to do here?

    Default 2.0 (5A240d) pwned & used

I got 2.0 (5A240d) from torrent, it is relatively more stable than the previous 2.0 beta, also much faster.

Have the 2.0 pwned and installed for a few days, and using the iPhone 2.0 together with the iPhone SDK, installing most of the SDK sample apps (more than 12 apps), quite stable. Probably because by using PwnageTool you can bypass the need to have the application signed, it is relatively easy and straight forward to install apps into the iPhone (using iPhone SDK X Code).

Features that I like most: contact search, and picture save (from Safari & mail), screen shot.

Other features that I haven't used: MS Exchange push mail, VPN (including for Cisco), and since I am not using AT&T, no iTunes. I am using Indonesian telco (Indo XL and Telkomsel).

Will have to stay on 2.0 for iPhone SDK testing purposes. Will probably test dual boot 1.1.4/2.0 if any of you can advise me the thread that refer to it.

What are some of the SDK test apps? That's the first I've heard of them. I'm not an "official" tester of course.
