Try to use iTunes 7.5. It probably will solve the problem. After you successfuly downgrade to 1.1.4 you have to use Basband Eraser and erase the baseband. Than restore again to 1.1.4. After that you can ulock with the method you love best.
To downgrade the iPod/iPhone you will need
to uninstall iTunes 7.7 and reinstall 7.5.

I'm such a noob sometimes...
My situation is so laughable...I was updating to 2.0 beta 8 firmware (I have a J/A 1.1.4, originally wk48 1.1.2 OTB) and in the middle of the process I detached the USB cable.
To make this really long (and STUPID) story short, I spent over 30+ hours troubleshooting shit I didn't need to when I came across the solution within the first hour but ignored it. I was trying to troubleshoot the whole corrupt BB/BL issue, the no IMEI/ICCID/bluetooth/wifi/etc issue, and also most of that time was just restoring like gangbusters with all these different firmwares and 3 versions of itunes. Pretty much three different issues I tried to do it piecemeal and solve separately when the steps listed in this topic did handled EVERYTHING.
Shoot, I'm stupid! HAHAHA, laughable, right?! Anyways, I used itunes 7.6.3 to do any restores, iLIBERTY to kick out of restore, and ZiPHONE (patched, still gross) to both downgrade and delete the BB. FRIGGIN 45 muthakcufing minutes to fix AFTER so many hours of BS on my part.
I swear, I'm like a chicken with its head cut off running around and stuff. I did learn a lot, but that was one hell of a wasted Saturday.
O well, my phone is back to normal and running smoothly. You guys should see the log I typed up starting at 4AM this morning lasting until about an hour ago when my phone actually restored successfully! It's a riot!
Peace.
