    Default Why beta testing?

    I think beta test is the most important for developers, that includes Apple Inc to find bugs and some bottleneck codes. Since the title of the thread is under Official iPhone SDK, there is nothing wrong or waste on testing the beta firmwares.

    No one was complaining about testing them, if software didnt get released in Beta and tested it would never arrive

    We are saying whats the point in leaking it, if you should have access you will be given it and be able to use it, its useless unless you can use it

    I have a probable justification why it may be worthwhile for some to have the latest leaked Beta stashed away....

    I'd love to start an "over or under" bet that Apple's current Betas do not include the latest and most sophisticated Lockdown features to prevent hacking/jailbreaking/unlocking/activating.

    My guess is that the final 2.0 will have few added features not yet announced or released on the Betas and those who are no legit AT&T customers will have to wait for a while until the new exploits are found and in the mean time settle for a lesser beta release that is already floating around and may already be jailbroken.

    Except the latest beta versions are NOT jailbreaked and hacked.

    The method exists but the DevTeam have not released it yet - so Apple doesn't know what they are going to do so can't fix the exploits if they don't know which ones the DevTeam are using!

    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    I would have to say you are wrong on that one. They have not been holding much back it seems, because in the kernel, it has code that will terminate unsgined applications if you attempt to run them. That means SSH, Installer.app, possibly even a patched lockdownd, since it was modified, but I can't confirm that one

    So you might be saying there is that installer.app maybe not in the 2.0 of the software.

    So can it be unlocked and activated, dont really use any installer.app apps to be honest

    I won't miss the Installer.app either.

    If baseband 04.05.04_G will be in the final release, it can already be unlocked.

    Activating and SSH or editing the IPSW in 2.0 is a must for me.

    These news coming from you (trusted source), worries me that 2.0 may take a while to properly jailbreak (allow unsigned apps) and activate.
    I think I read on a different thread that you had jailbroken b5. Have you done the same with b7? Most important, have you activated it? Can you use your tool to edit the IPSW?

    I doubt activation would even work
