[Exchange] 2.0 Beta 4 5a258f Not Pushing Emails
Is there any reason (besides Beta firmware) why the Exchange emails are not being pushed? I think it might have to do with the iphone being in sleep mode for the most part. But again, that doesn't make any sense why it wouldn't receive Pushed emails because that just defeats the purpose.
Or is this normal? My university uses Exchange 2007. It pushes fine on my Sprint Mogul (PocketPC).
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Beta 4 still has loads ad loads of bugs. One of them is that it looses data connection for no reason, specially when on EDGE.
Either of these ways may get it working again:
Reset your MobileMail either by force quitting or recreating your account in Prefs.
Turn Airplane mode for about a minute.
Turn WiFi and connect to a network and hit the refresh on the account.
Reset your phone by pressing home/pwr.
Beta 6 is 99% problem free and so far I have not found issues with push. We are few days from the probable official release so hang on a bit until Apple distributes 2.0 Gold release.

I'll give this a shot until the final release. Thanks for the info.

Well, I've tried those methods above and they don't seem to help. The only thing that seems to help is when I "Reset All Settings"
It then starts receiving Pushed emails. I am not sure exactly what happens that it loses ActiveSync connection.

5a258f should have expired for you by now. So you can get by until next week, you might consider downgrading to 5a240d.
I just set up a spare iPhone with 5a240d and the push issues are there but I am getting by with the recommendations I gave you. The one that is most effective is to force quit the MobileMail after you are done manually fetching your emails. When all else fails, I reboot the phone by pressing home/pwr.
I am about to upgrade the BB on the 5a240d to 04.05.01 to see how it behaves...

Let me know how 5a240d with 04.05.01 Baseband goes? And I am not sure what you mean by 'Force Quit'?
Also, I have a Windows Mobile PocketPC which is also sync'ing with the Exchange Server so would that be causing issues...having two devices sync'ing to same exchange account?

So far 5a240d with bb 04.05.01 has been working fine for the past two hours.
There is not much to "Push" at this hour so we'll see tomorrow.
Force quit is to hold the home button for about 10 sec until the app quits completely. Otherwise the home button may only suspend the app.
I don't think you should have any problems with two or more devices on the same acct.
Exchange should see all your devices individually by their IDs. Right now I have two iPhones connected to the same account. I've used my Moto q9 as well. They are all individually registered on my server and they get "pushed" at the same time.

Thanks for the info...I didn't know about the forcequit thing. Also, my Baseband is 04.05.02_G...what's that all about since I know you're refering to 04.05.01 BB?
Again, I really appreciate your help and time.

No prob... I like to help when I can.
As far as I understand, it is possible to install 5a258f on non developer registered devices as long as you are a legit ATT activated customer.
From posts I have read, 5a258f should have expired by now and you should have gotten the pink screen of death! I was giving you a suggestion to downgrade to 5a240d in case you got yourself lockout of your device.
Personally I did not like 5a258f as it introduced more problems than solutions. I guess that is why Apple released 5a274d so quickly there after.
If you are not locked out, then waiting until monday is your best bet besides trying a downgrade. Otherwise, if you don't mind the time and challenge, try downgrading to 5a240d that in my case seems to run much better than 5a258f.
To install 5a240d, you will need to use the Pwnage Tool. Currently the latest 2.0 Beta that can be Pwned is 5a240d, but the original method left you with 1.1.4's baseband rather than the native 04.05.01.
Follow this thread on how to use 5a240d with its native baseband:
http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38047
Baseband:
The iPhone is basically a computer with a sophisticated modem or radio. You have the computer side of the OS which is a specially ported version of Mac OS X and you have the baseband that is the OS to operate the radio side of the device.
In most cases the radio side gets updated at the same time as the computer side.
The baseband is also responsible of managing the carrier exclusivity.
Improvements on the baseband should reduce cellular related issues.

Well, what I was asking was that I have downgraded to 1.1.4 but still have 04.05.02_G BB while the BB you were refering to in your previous post was 04.05.01. So I just wanted to make sure that I was still running the 5a258f Radio and not the 1.1.4 Radio. I am not sure which radio (BB) was native to 1.1.4.
Also, using the pwnage tool, will it change the BB or should I keep everything unchecked (being legit ATT) and that will leave the newer (04.05.02_G) BB intact? That way, I can have your kind of setup.
Thanks again! you're awesome!
