[Advice] Can we program & upload to iPhone without AT&T number?
I was wondering if we can upload application to iPhone without AT&T phone number. After updating to iPhone OS 2.0 it asked for AT&T number in order to run XCode but I don't have any since I just bought it for programming. Then my iPhone just locked up and required activation. Is there any developer program (say enterprise program) or other solutions that allow developers to do it (better on many iPhones) without (or just one) AT&T number?
The phone number check is for activating your iPhone under the 2.0 firmware and then applying your Developer Certificate to your iPhone so that you can load up your apps.
You could always test with an iPod Touch or you could wait things out until a hacktivation method comes around. Not an ideal situation, but it's where we are.
Remember, you are using beta firmware on a locked platform that is carrier-exclusive. Apple has no reason to make this "easy" for you.
