Default Ability to share app between 2 iPhones like DS

Can an iPhone app be built so it can be shared like some DS games can using the "DS Download Play" option?

I would like to create a multiplayer game but have it as an option that if iPhone owner "A" does not have my app, then iPhone "B" can send the app to iPhone owner "A" wirelessly and both iPhone owners can then play the game with each other. Once they sever the link, then iPhone owner "A" will cease to have the app on their iPhone. This would be similar to how the DS game handheld can share games among each other if the games have that as a feature.

Is this something possible with the iPhone SDK?

Apple is very restrictive towards software distribution on iPhones. It only allows AppStore channel. I think you could make a free lite version restricted to multiplayer capabilities and a normal paid version with all the features. Or alternatively use the open toolchain where the restrictions are lifted.

Making a lite version is not the most desired option. I wwas hoping that an app could be "temporarily" shared like some DS games can. All the users who wanted to play with the person who paid for the game wouldn't have to go to the app store before playing. The app would be more viral as one person buys it, they tells others by allowing them to preview the game on their own device. But I guess if this is not possible, I could make a lite version that people can download for free when they wish to play with someone who paid for the app. Otherwise, the app would be useless. If they have an Internet connection, they could download the app on the spot when the person who paid for the app wanted to play with them.

Maybe the new SDK that is coming out next week (March 17th) may have what I want as an option.

Is there a way to do what I want on a jailbroken phone?

If cydia is installing software on jailbroken phones than so can you. However it requires some software already running on the iphone to accept the incoming files containing your lite version. For instance SSH deamon very common on jailbroken phones will do the trick. However it is very risky way of sharing apps.
