1.2/2.0 crashes all the time : 1.1.4 downgrade procedure?
i was accepted into the developer program and was excited about loading an app i created in the simulator onto my real phone. i got all my certificates and provisioning in line, upgraded xcode and the iphone os and loaded the app.
in 2.0 though, i can not add favorites without the phone program crashing. safari crashes and causes the whole os to reboot. i can not even touch the alphabet in the contacts list to jump straight to a letter. is anyone else with the new os having these problems? has anyone successfully reverted to 1.1.4?

As far as I'm concerned, the SDK and updated firmware are in alpha stage at this point, not beta.

Have you tried pwnage on your phone?
I believe the way you need to do this is as follows:
Recovery mode - restore to 1.1.4 - it WILL give you an error message as the baseband is incorrect.
Kick it out of recovery mode and into 1.1.4 using Independence/iLiberty/ZiPhone.
Jailbreak the phone using iLiberty+.
Access Installer - update community sources download BSD subsystem.
Go to iclarified source - install the 1.2 baseband removal and remove the baseband!
Restore to 1.1.4 again - which will put your correct baseband on the phone.
AND THEN - if your happy on 1.1.4 no problem...
If you want to be able to go up and down between firmware without messing with baseband issues then use pwanage. Read the FAQ in the pwnage forum.
You will not be able to upgrade to the 3rd Beta version until the DevTeam update pwnagetool.
Of course maybe if you just update to the new beta it will work better!
iPhone US 8GB
FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
iPhone UK 16GB
FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!
<----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)
