[1.1.4][HowTo] Can't upgrade to 2.0 beta 7 (5A331)
Hi All,
I have downloaded iPhone firmware 2.0 beta7 build 5A331 which contains following files:
* ICE2_01.43.00.eep
* ICE2_01.43.00.fls
* iPhone1,1_2.0_5A331_Restore.ipsw
I am having problems installing it on my pwnd iPhone (1.1.4). When I try to restore it through iTunes (my device is in the DFU mode) it gives my Unknown errror (1). I tried it on Mac with iTunes 7.6.2 and 7.5 and also on windows xp with 7.6.2.xxx.
Do you have any ideas why would my phone not want to upgrade?
PS. I have tried with 5a274d and it was behaving in exact same way as the new firmware.

This is what I found in the log:
2008-06-22 17:56:58.000 iTunes[977:e013]: unable to find device map entry for 0x1222 0x1102
2008-06-22 17:56:58.000 iTunes[977:e013]: DFU file = (null)
2008-06-22 17:56:58.000 iTunes[977:e013]: _copyPathToDFUFile failed

Looks like it is not in DFU, but might be in Recovery instead.

Well, I am following the instructions on how to enter DFU mode. iPhuc reports DFU mode, screen is black etc...
-
I got it in DFU mode with ziPhone so it must be in the right mode...
And I keep getting the error (1)

Are you sure the IPSW is original and not modded ?
Somebody with a working 5a331 IPSW can post the md5 signature here ?

This is mine:
MD5 (iPhone1,1_2.0_5A331_Restore.ipsw) = 3a3d724faf7d8925d34e79bb5b70f3e1

run md5 command in the terminal (mac):
md5 *.ipsw
on windows you'll have to donwload md5 utility probably
