I am wondering why anyone would still want to carry around a digital camera when they have an iPone 4S? Which really does have me wondering about the fate of digital cameras, in general?

The slim sized will vanish soon or later. But think of the big system cams, no way around it. They won't disapear.

I actually thought that people would give up 35mm cameras when digital cameras came out. Well, that's what I get for thinking... But I have a feeling they are not used as much, anymore. I know that I take some nice pictures with my phone.

I saw a local newspaper doing a poll about that. Professionals and people who are hobby photographers will still need digital cameras, but the poll here said that most people were using their iPhone or Android smartphone as a replacement for their camera. At least people who seek an all in one device.

Well, it's not just because most phones have cameras now, it's just that the camera on the iPhone 4S is so good! If they all start being as good as this, I don't know why anyone would need an additional digital camera.

I agree, I think the camera on the iPhone 4s is much better than most of the smartphones. I do tend to agree that digital cameras will vanish amongst the general public unless camera makes do something revolutionary.

I would second that, but I don't think the death of the pleasure digital phone will be caused by Apple alone. I agree that it is very appealing to have an all in once device and that it itself will be a factor. I can't wait to see digital camera 2011 sales numbers.
