Pretty amazing that in less than two months, the iPhone 4S is second when it comes to people uploading their photos to flickr from their smartphone. Of course, number one is the iPhone 4 by a landslide but also impressive is 3 and 4 are iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Number five is the HTC EVO 4G. That's an interesting stat. With all the android fans exclaiming that the android platform has taken over and that iOS will be a niche player in the very near future, this data just shows that iPhone users are actually using their phones. Of course the argument would be that since there are hundreds of different android phones, if you add them all up they will probably be miles ahead of iOS.

What do they mean by most popular? Do they have the highest amount of people uploading photos or do they do it by the number of photos uploaded. Or does it go by percentages?

The site says it's the number of flickr members who uploaded at least one photo. Again, I think that this shows (along with the mobile browsing data that majority are Safari Mobile) iPhone users in general really use their phones to do all sorts of things besides making calls. This is not to imply that people are not doing the same on other platforms, but because the iPhone (and iOS) is focused on just a few models, it is easy to see users patterns and helpful for programmers to focus their efforts.

I'm not really surprised by that. People are always dying to use the latest and greatest iPhone. Once you have one, and spend all of that money for it, you are going to do everything you possibly can with it.

I think that having the ability to fully understand mobile phone usage really does have a huge advantage. I think one of androids downfalls is having way to many models and various twists on the OSes.

I am kind of surprised that the iPhone 4S is not THE most popular cameraphone. But, maybe it's just because people don't realize how upgraded it really is.
