iPhone 4S looks like a big hit where I live
I haven't really checked out the lines at the apple store but a friend of mine who runs one of the AT&T stores in my area could not believe how busy they were on the first two days of the iPhone 4S going on sale. She said that it was busier than last year when the iPhone 4 was released. The bulk of the sales were upgrades from previous iPhones. I'm curious if sales will remain strong or it will taper off a lot once everyone upgrades.

Sales will remain strong because people are going to buy the latest Apple product. Also, there are some people waiting for the bugs to be worked out before purchasing one.

Sales in our area did about the same thing, so simple even a redneck could do it. That is what locals were saying with our store downtown that was packed to the point of people being double parked on the streets.

I am also still noticing long lines in front of the Apple store in the mall. I don't think this will let up anytime soon especially with the holidays just around the corner.

There are still long lines in my area. I went to the mall last weekend and wanted to go inside the Apple store, but changed my mind because of the line. No, it is not going to get any better with Christmas around the corner.

I live in an area where the economic data is even worse than the national averages. Yet every time I pass by the Apple store in the mall, the store is still packed. It seems like people would rather get the latest phone than something like a video game. They are so amazing with everything you can do with them, portable technology is definitely the way to go.

I am only happy that they haven't run out of them! At least iPhone anticipated this. Plus, there was a lot of publicity and everyone was counting down the days.

Some of my friends are waiting for the price to come down. I know A LOT of people who are still using old phones. When you say everyone, that is a huge amount of people that are left to join the technological revolution. Sales for the iPhone will still stay strong because the migration hasn't even began.

I am just such an Apple fanatic that I have to have anything new that Apple puts out. I will live with the issues that new electronics have. They usually come up with a repair quickly.
