    Default iphone 4s battery/mains question

    Hi,
I have a 4s, it works ok but one thing seems odd - if the battery runs out of juice and i plug it into the wall with the charger i have to wait half hour before i can switch the thing on. I've never known a phone that won't switch on once it's connected to the mains. Basically this means that if(when) your iphone battery dies for good (ie stops holding any charge) then you don't have a phone until you can get a replacement battery.

    Question: Is this normal??

would seem a bit rubbish long term, and pretty inconvenient short term as the standby/talk time is very short on this thing anyhow.

30 minutes may be a stretch, but I know that if I let my iPhone 4 die completely, when I plug it in I initially get a charging screen and it will not turn on for approximately 10 minutes or so as it charges.

Thanks for the reply. You're right, it's prob no more than 10-15 mins. Still that's 10-15 mins more than it should be.

Agreed. It has to do with the fact that the power goes through the battery to get to the mainboard even when it's plugged in, and if the battery is low enough charge, not enough amperage or voltage actually passes through. At least, that's my guess.
