(Do not know if both changes are necessary or changing from google.cn to google.de is enough.)
How about change it to .us instead of .de?

It's odd that this didn't change Safari's google.cn search. When I implemented the HTTP request filter I mentioned above it also change the search. Maybe there's another file that needs to be updated.

After making these changes could you upload the modified file on MediaFire on somewhere? I should be able to just download it and replace the file on my phone to make it work, right?

I don't think ditu to maps is necessary as I did not do this and it worked. Couldn't hurt, I suppose.

BTW, the Cydia app Maps Enhancer is useful for clearing your maps cache. You need version 1.3.

I think it is like the IMEI or SN in a ROM.... and not changeable.

You can see it on your iphone at Info at Settings.

Mine's MC603CH. Maybe we could search for where in the code it checks for the model number.

I have said this the whole time, it is controlled by the model number of the iPhone. Your best bet would be to identify where this is checked in software and make a mobilesubstrate patch that would silently change all checks to report say a UK or US iPhone model instead.

    Default Decrypting Ramdisks

I decrypted the both RAMdisk (Update/Restore) but found not a hint about modell specific (country code) behavior.

It seems to be selfcustomized with the first start of the new iOS.

I am just copying all files from my iPhone to find the changes against the firmware image.

I have seen 3 differences about the countries installation:

    Safari search engines.
    Maps search engine/data.
youtube.app was not showing up although the files are installed.

    Sorry. No good news.

I think, the firmware is doing some stuff within first start.
These stuff will change the general firmware to the model specific one.

I tried some things to integrate the youtube.app to springboard within plist, but failed also.

I think the full logic to change is written in the 120 MB library.

Perhaps someday it will be a way within the tools for custom ipsw jailbreaking like sn0wbreeze 2 or PwnageTool.

These ppl have more knowhow about the current iOS.

What about the HTTP request intercept solution, or sharing your edited dyld_shared_c ache_armv7 file? It would at least fix the map problem, which is the most important issue.
