Sim-Card unlock solution
Few years ago when I was waiting for the unlock for iPhone 2g FW 1.1.2 I think, I read that you could buy some fake sim-card which acted like an genuine AT&T sim card I think, and you could somehow use your own sim-card with it...
Obviously I don't have all the facts straight, this is just something I think I've read. Is this not an option anymore?

They all stopped working with either ios 2.2.1 or 3.0. some vendors promised updates to make their upgradable sim adapter work with 3.0. No vendor ever released a 3.0 compatible sim adapter.
So it seems Apple has successfully blocked these sim adapters from working via an os update.
Occasionally we see someone upgrading a 3G from 2.x who forgot that they had used a sim adaptor and was puzzled as to why ultrasn0w didn't work for them. Removing the sim adaptor (obviously) fixes that.
Please read the stickies & search forum before posting!

Thank you for your quick response. I appreciate how you take your time answering all these questions that I've seen you answer. I've been reading this forum since late 2008, but haven't posted much, if any.
I would like to point out when reading about people who are asking for and demanding the unlock/jailbreak without thinking of the huge amount of time the dev-team puts in to it, there are people that really appreciate what they are doing and understands that good things come slowly. I think that there is more of those people and they probably don't post anything
Dev-team rules and they should be praised more often
