Hey guys i been reading around and heard people talk about downgrading the FW then unlock it.
My problem is i just got 2 new iphone 4 from BestBuy and both is on 4.0.2 can i downgraded to 4.0.1 ? then unlock it ?

No you can't. restores need to be verified online with Apple. This is a digital signature and can't be faked.
Apple has stopped authorising 4.0.1 restores now.
The people who have reported success with this have saved their restore signature (SHSH) for 4.0.1 before Apple stopped signing it. This is how they have downgraded.
Use tinyumbrella - save your 4.0.2 SHSH before Apple closes that off ( likely have less than a week)
You have no way to jailbreak and unlock right now. Have to wait for a new jailbreak.
Don't upgrade to 4.1 when it is released later this week. That will destroy your chances of unlocking

You were able to downgrade because you have SHSH for 4.0.1. Even if you didn't think you had them you do.Quote:
