Question Pls help: Having problems jailbraking and unlocking...

    HI ALL!

Trying to unlock the following iPhone and getting error in iTunes:
    "Firmware not supported"... Strange...

Can please advise a "SURE" method (Mac or PC, no matter).

    TinyUmbrella Data:
    Device Model: MB760Y/A - iPhone3G (but I suspect it's 3GS - it's white and has 16gb)
FW: 3.1.3 (I did a restore of the original FW from apple - this is what it has now!)
    Baseband: 05.12.01 - 5.9_M3S2 (unlockable, right)
    Serial: xxx35xxxxxx (seems 35 week)
iBoot: 596.24 (seems new boot rom)
    Using iTunes v10.2.2
Tried jailbreaking with Pwnage Tool 3.1.5 and also latest 4.3.3.3.1

    PLEASE GIVE ME PRECISE INTRUCTIONS!

    Thanks in advance!
    ELF

Actually the error that iTunes gives me is:
"The iphone "iphone" could not be restored because the firmware is not compatible".
    WTF?!?!?

That error usually means you downloaded the wrong firmware -- e.g., you're trying to put 3G iOS on a 3GS, or vice versa. TinyUmbrella can identify what phone you have and what the current software is. It could also mean you're attempting to restore a custom firmware in non pwned DFU mode, but based on your iOS revision, I don't believe that's the case. Make sure you know which model the phone is and make sure you're downloading the proper firmware.
