I have an iPhone 4, s/w version: 4.3.2 and have been out of touch with what's new in hacking terms.
My provider is Rogers and when I'm traveling to Europe I use a Givey device to use it with another provider but I miss the nice interraction that I could have between with a MAC and a iPhone, but that is only when using iOS 5.
If I want it to upgrade to iOS 5 or 5.1, is it feasible? Is there a guide and what are the pros and cons please?

I have seen some websites that is possible if you pay some money, or is it a trick like in the past?

Don't update if you still plan to use greavy, if you update you will be unable to reunlock the device. The loophole was closed and if you are in need for an unlock it will end you with a unusable phone.

@sam: since its an iPhone 4 he should be able to block the BB update and it will still work right?? I'm not exactly familiar with Gevey

So basically what I want is to update the phone to iOS5 but to still be able to use it in Europe with a different SIM, other then my current Rogers SIM. Is it possible?

Maybe truehybridx is right, make sure you are jailbroken and able to install a custom ipsw -> install custom ipsw WITHOUT baseband update.

The problem is SAM and greavy/ultra shared a same exploit in apple's activation servers and this one was just patched, end of story. Lucky people have saved their activation ticket with SAM.
