Without a saved SHSH you cannot restore iOS 4.1 anymore.

It is too late to save a 4.1 SHSH now. If you have previously saved SHSH for that phone with Cydia, you can try a restore with the hosts file pointing to Cydia. If that fails, you have no other option than to restore to the latest iOS version (That apple is still saving)

Saving your SHSH to Cydia should be the first thing you do when you receive an iPhone (even before you activate it)

So i can't downgrade iOS 4.2.1 to 4.1 without SHSH file for iOS 4.1
If don't have SHSH for iOS 4.1 can't restore 4.1 anymore!

Yes for an iPhone 4, this is correct.

Not possible for 3GS either. I just was answering your specific question - which was for an iPhone 4.

It is possible for an iPhone 3G (as this doesn't have a hardware check for SHSH) - there is no secret or private method. Everyone should backup their SHSH. It should be the first thing they do as soon as they receive their iPhone. Even 3G owners.
