has anyone tried this? One would assume that Apple and ATT have found some way to keep us from putting our iPhone SIMs into our iPads and using the unlimited data plan on the ipad? Other than using MyWi and making the iphone an access port are there other options?

There should be no problem, I did something quite similar, I cut my iPhone 3Gs SIM card and inserted on the iPad, it worked. I can't think of a reason why an iPhone 4 micro-sim wouldn't work on an iPad.

Your iPad is already sim-unlocked. I have used my t-mobile sim with edge service ok. As well as iPhone 4 sim in iPad. Internet and 3G works.

However if you put the ipad sim in your iphone 3G data set to BROADBAND in APN will not work.
