    Default iPhone 4 possible unlock?

I have an iPhone 4 currently on iOS 4.3.5 with 04.10.01 baseband and my phone is sort of jail broken. Even though it is not possible to have an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.5 I have it. A friend of my did it for me. It does not have cydia though. Im able to simply just insert my att sim, which was not activated with the phone and the sim is a gophone sim. It works perfectly fine and i did not need to activate the phone. I want to upgrade to ios 5 though, and I was wondering if all AT&T sim cards can just be inserted into an iPhone and work? Is there a way where I can upgrade to iOS 5, and be able to just put in my AT&T gophone sim card and make it work. Or is there a way to get past the activation screens. Previously, when I updated my iPhone, the phone would stay locked until I activated through iTunes. Please help. Thanks.

Apple has locked down the types of SIM cards that will activate the iPhone and at this point, while phonebook SIMs do not work, I haven't heard anything that would lead me to believe that a pay as you go / gophone SIM would not work. Worst case, you CAN use redsn0w to jailbreak and hacktivate iOS 5.0.1, though it will be tethered...
