New to the community so...but was reading.
He is what I got: iPhone 4 that I know noting about that displays Connect to iTune screen.
I want to have it unlock, jail-broken.
After reading - connecting to iTunes bad idea because basedband will installed probably 5.16.07 that can't be unlocked.
There are so much information on web, but I fill like I have only one shoot to make it right and need help.

If I tried to used iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw in iTunes with Shift-Restore will the baseband stay as is now?

What iOS iTunes installs now days on iPhone 4? I suspect 6.x
I have no SHSH blobs to downgrade iOS.
And I don't know the baseband.
What my options are?

With an iPhone4 and no SHSH, you can only restore the latest iOS, which at this point I believe is 6.0.2.
Use redsn0w to try and grab valid SHSH blobs for the version of iOS on the phone, that may be able to help you in the future.The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.
