iPhone 4 disabled
hey I have an iPhone 4 that we replaced a battery and charger Flex Assembly. So it's not been working for a good 6 months. It boots but says the iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes. well when i connect it to iTunes it says i need to enter a passcode into the phone. This phone originally was mine and i gave it to my niece when i upgraded to the galaxy s2 skyrocket last year. she doesn't remember the passcode. I can't get it to go into recovery mode to restore it. I have no access to the computer it was last sync to do it that way.
please help

If it is disabled because of a passcode lock, the only way to restore it is to put the device into DFU mode and complete a restore in iTunes, wiping all contents from the device.
Plug the phone into your computer while the phone is turned on and at the 'connect to iTunes' screen, then hold the power and home buttons for 10 seconds, then let go of the power button and continue holding the home button until iTunes tells you that there is a phone in recovery mode (should be about 3-5 seconds). You should NOT see anything on the screen of the phone. If you see the 'Connect to iTunes' USB logo, re-try putting the phone into DFU mode.
Once the phone is in DFU mode, proceed with a restore through iTunes as normal and then set the phone up as a new phone.
