after my first 4 was broken, the second one was lost I bought a new one yesterday with China Unicom contract (China Mobile does not support 3G).
Even I have set everything to English, the App Store remained to appear in Chinese. Restored with the official Apple firmware, now this one is fixed.

Youtube is blocked in China, but the App is on the phone. Is there any way to activate this one? It just seems to be hidden.

Another strange thing: When the phone is powered off and connected to a charger, the power symbol will appear on the screen. None of my HK phones show this one - there is definitely a difference.

There was another thread about this kind of thing. During the first boot after a restore, the iPhone checks model number and applies some tweaks based on the model number. This makes it hard to patch out (except maybe with a custom IPSW)

Did you bother to search? (I know the other thread didn't offer a 100% solution and was only for iOS 4.1 but.. it's the same basic problem)

I was searching but I just could find a thread asking about the factory unlock. No problem with this one, I tried my China Mobile SIM and it's working.

No I finally have fast internet and no Youtube *argl*

Actually I didn't think about they would completely lock the App when I bought the phone. Youtube is blocked by the Great Firewall anyways. Will have to ask in the Apple Store for help, another day wasted to go to Shanghai.
