Iphone 3gs old boot rom
HI guys
I bought a 3gs off craigslist for about 200. It had 3.1 and an old baseband.
I tried to jailbrake and unlock to new firmware, and I screwed up.
Oh well, so i have a 3gs 4.2 firmware, new base band, but it still has the old bootrom.
Just wondering if it is still worth jailbraking and unlocking to 6.15. I do not want to lose GPS either, or should I just sell it...
I did try saying my ssh through tinyumbrella, but that will just take me back to an older firmware and the baseband will stay the same.
Should I hang tight for a new jail brake?
thanks

What SHSH did you manage to get? Did you get a 4.1 SHSH?

I will check when I get home,
I think when I tried to use Tiny Umbrella, it was saying 4.2.1.

The reason I ask is that the untethered jailbreak, gps problems and the restore issues people have been experiencing are not a problem if you combine bb6.15 and iOS 4.1

So what you are saying is if I manage to downgrade to 4.1 and upgrade baseband to 6.15 I should not have any GPS issues.
I also heard from Twitter that they may have baseband downgrade coming. ( MuscleHead )

Yes, that is what I have read

Yes that looks to be a while before such a tool becomes available, but this is exciting news that this might be possible. I personally doubted that there were any more holes in the baseband bootloader (hopefully this is a baseband bootrom hole)

Hi Olethros, sold my phone to someone who had rogers. I have a 3gs which is Bell, jailbroken and unlocked and using it for Telus. I am currently having the battery drain issue. I have ordered a original Bell sim of Ebay for 5 bucks.
Once I receive it do I just slap it in and let it activate and then put the Telus sim back in or Do I have to completely restore my phone jailbreak it again.
thanks
