What is the model number of the phone? We can use that information to get an indicator as to what carrier the phone is locked to or whether it is truly a 'factory unlocked' phone (which is kind of a misnomer anyways, but I digress.)
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.

    iPhone 4, 32GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n | SHSH: 4.0 - 6.1.2)
    iPad 2 3G, 64GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n
    |
    SHSH: 4.3 & 4.3.3 - 6.1)

apple used to publish a table with model # and the authorized carrier for that model #.
That document is no longer there. You can google of it. There are several tables floating out there

The reason they don't do this any more is that there isn't always a 1:1 mapping between model and authorized carrier (or even country) any longer. The tables out there are mostly useful as a rough guide. If you live in a country where nearly every carrier sells the iPhone (like Australia), chances are they all have the same model number and it's impossible to determine if it is factory unlocked or not simply by looking at the model number.

Hey Olethros, is that you on the picture? Wow I thought you were more like an older dude. Anyways, I have been seeing people claiming to factory unlock any iphone for around 70-100 bucks. Do you know whats the route to do that? Thank you.
