Default FaceTime on T-mobile USA??? not working

Has anyone figured out how to get Facetime to activate and work using iPhone 4 unlocked on T-mobile USA?

Unlocked iPhone 4 with T-mobile sim inserted, never activates facetime. SAME IPHONE 4 with AT&T card does successfully activate FaceTime and the facetime feature works - made a test call.

Replace the AT&T sim with the T-mobile sim, and facetime option goes away - SAME IPHONE MIND YOU.

    Help.....

I believe this is known behavior, on one of the dev-team or comex's twitter they said they knew about this and were aware of the issue, and that they were trying to get a patch together for it. I don't believe it's supposed to work on official carriers yet.

Secondarily, T-Mobile only has EDGE for the iPhone, so if you're not on WiFi, it's going to be abysmal from a speed perspective.
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.

Doesnt matter cuz on AT&T you have to hack it to make it work on 3g anyways.. but i can confirm it works on AT&T to T-Mobile lol we restored and jailbroke after comex fixed the issues, if any of the mods want to help me test this more extensively PM me and we can
Get the latest info for NoAccSplash Here
Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x

Why do people find the need to point out T-mobile only supports edge and Facetime would be terrible on it... HELLO --- FaceTime was designed for WIFI... and NOT the carriers data plan in the first place. Not even AT&Ts 3G.

I've read report of add +1 to "My Phone number" makes it work (doesn't for me) and scattered reports of FaceTime working on T-mobile... but no one seems to have a reliable solution to make it work for everyone.

I know it will come sooner or later, but as a person who anticipated the unlock to use the iPhone 4 on T-mobile only to realize that one of the main features doesn't work because of some screwed up .plist or configuration file somewhere designed specifically for AT&T and the way it intercepts sms's or whatever--- is very upsetting and disheartening. And then having the lack of 3G continuously flung this direction is even more of a slap in the face. Remember, FACETIME directly from apple is for WIFI ONLY.... So CARRIER and its data speed should be IRRELEVANT to get this feature to work. What should matter is calling another iPhone 4 user... PERIOD.

I'm 99% sure it has something to do with the SMS texting. Certain people across the 'net have reported getting facetime to work on T-mobile and other NON-OFFICIAL carriers, with success. I called T-mobile USA today and I did get about $10 worth of international sms charges - and none of them successfully activated facetime.

I'm not sure if T-mobile is blocking the returning incoming authorization sms or if the outgoing sms is somehow getting altered or blocked?

As an example, Because I'm on t-mobile usa - I can not send EMOJI symbols to my buddy on AT&T, but he CAN send them to me. If I send emoji out from t-mobile to at&t it gets returned to me. But I can send emoji to other T-mobile users.
